This Jaguar XK 150 Drophead Coupe was produced in June of 1958, configured in left-hand drive for the North American market and sold originally through Jaguar of Eastern Canada. While its early history is unknown, circa 2001 it found its way to an enthusiast in New Orleans who commissioned a mechanical and cosmetic restoration by acclaimed marque specialist, Tourist Trophy Garage of Louisiana. Following the restoration, it was displayed competitively and won both “Best in Class” and “Best in Show” at the New Orleans British Car Day show. It thereafter resided in a well-known private collection in Texas for many years, kept in superb order post-restoration.
Silver with red Connolly leather interior, red carpeting, red convertible top and boot cover, this example received an upgraded 3.8 liter straight six-cylinder engine with 220 bhp. It retains the original 4-speed Moss manual gearbox with overdrive, and special equipment including wire wheels, fog lights, scuttle vents and LeCarra steering wheel. A Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust Certificate is part of its provenance.
